Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has appointed William Bergeron, CEO of Bergeron Resources, as the newest member of the Port of New Orleans’ board of commissioners. The announcement was made at the port’s Nov. 15 meeting. Bergeron will serve a five-year term.
Bergeron manages Bergeron Resources, a diversified management and investment firm serving oil and gas properties throughout Louisiana and Texas. In addition, Bergeron Resources oversees real estate projects and transportation services in Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida.
“I am honored and humbled to be appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans,” says Bergeron. “This appointment affords me an opportunity to contribute to the continuing economic and cultural recovery of the port, the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. I thank Governor Jindal, his staff, the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation and the many others who expressed confidence in my ability by supporting my nomination to this very important institution.”
