The hosts of the 10th annual Indiana Logistics Summit, to be held in Indianapolis, have announced that the summit will feature a keynote address by Nabil Sakkab of Proctor & Gamble. The state's freight logistics conference will kick off Oct. 16 with a reception hosted by Governor Mitch Daniels, followed by speaker presentations on Oct. 17 at the Indiana Convention Center.

“We are privileged to have Gov. Daniels and Dr. Sakkab share their thoughts on the importance of innovation and logistics to this region's global competitiveness,” Ports of Indiana CEO Rich Cooper, says. “This year's Summit has a tremendous group of speakers which should provide a thought-provoking dialog among industry experts on innovative supply chains, business opportunities, infrastructure needs, policy changes, workforce development, and the impacts of these topics on future freight mobility.”

The Summit is hosted by the Ports of Indiana, Purdue University and Conexus Indiana, with help from sponsors such as the Indiana Economic Development Corp., the Indiana Department of Transportation, Ice Miller, Harrison College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and other logistics-focused organizations.
The event was created to bring together logistics leaders to discuss key issues with partners from manufacturing, academia, government and all transportation modes.

During his keynote address, Sakkab will be discussing the use of innovation in driving business success and customer satisfaction.

Attendees must register for the Summit in advance and are required to provide a separate RSVP for the Governor's reception the evening of Oct. 16 as space is limited, according to event organizers. The Summit will begin at 8 a.m. on Oct. 17 at the Indiana Convention Center. Registration for the conference and reception is available at www.indianalogistics.com.
